Wholly Quilts 2019
This group is a mix of ladies from the Church and the Community whose passion is making quilts, stitched with love to express Christ’s love for each person who receives a quilt. The quilts are made for organisations and charities; we also make comfort quilts for individuals, when they have experienced bereavement.
Since the beginning of 2019 we have donated nine children's quilts to "Wrap with Love", one quilt to "Aussie Heroes", and gifted two bereavement comfort quilts.
At our most recent meeting we commenced our annual project making library and marble bags for Central Coast Samaritan's Purse; the bags are included in the Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes so that the children have something to keep their treasures in, once the shoe box disintegrates.
We were contacted by Zonta Central Coast, who asked if we could make their organisation a quilt to raffle at their annual fundraiser in late July 2019. We willingly agreed and a small team is working on the quilt at the moment.
Already this year, we have been truly blessed by four ladies from the community who generously donated their 'fabric stash' to us, along with some partially pieced quilt tops to finish. Sadly for them, they are unable to continue with their patchwork hobby. An additional blessing was when we received a large donation of wadding, which came totally out of the blue after a need was mentioned over a cup of coffee!
We are so very grateful and give thanks for the support we receive, which enables us to continue to create beautiful, comforting quilts, all stitched with Christ's love for the world through our hands
Wholly Quilts takes place on the 2nd & 4th Friday each month.
