Wholly Quilts 2018
This group is a mix of ladies from the Church and the Community whose passion is making quilts, stitched with love to express Christ’s love for each person who receives a quilt. The quilts are made for organisations and charities; we also make comfort quilts for individuals, when they have experienced bereavement.
Wholly Quilts has had another very productive year, all thanks to the generous donations we receive from the community of fabric and cash donations from jam sales. The Church also gives us a grant of $500 to purchase backing fabric. Thank you to all, we are so grateful for your support.
During 2018 we donated 50 quilts to the Family and Community Services (FaCS), to gift to the vulnerable and at risk children on the Central Coast. They can take more from us if we make them! We also made two large quilts that were gifted to Far West Children’s Hospital and the Gosford RSL, who raffled the quilts to raise much needed funds for their community work.
Rev. Lorna asked the group if they would make a Christmas Tree Skirt for the Remembrance Tree and the project was addressed with much keenness and beautiful paper-piecing handwork. These photo’s show the group of ladies, the Christmas Tree Skirt & the last lot of quilts we donated in December to FaCS – 13 this time.
Wholly Quilts takes place on the 2nd & 4th Friday each month.
