SPECIAL RELIGIOUS EDUCATION (SRE) IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS.
Dedicated teachers give time each week to share the knowledge of God and of Jesus with children in local primary schools.
SRE Teaching in Primary schools is an important outreach ministry of the Gosford Wyoming Uniting Church and members are encouraged to support it by becoming involved as teachers, helpers and by offering prayerful support.
The Gosford Wyoming Uniting Church contributes towards the cost of lesson material and supports the work of the Central Coast Christian SRE Committee.
In the area covered by the Gosford Ministers Association there are 16 Primary Schools which stretch from Ourimbah in the North to Kariong in the South, Kulnura in the West and Chertsey in the East.
There are more than 100 SRE (Scripture) Teachers from various churches engaged in teaching over 3,000 children.
It is important that we make an effort to reach children who have no church connection with the stories we read in the Bible. They also need to be made aware of our Christian heritage and to know that God loves them.
